Guilt and Covid19

“I was afraid they would hate me”

Coronavirus contaminated, the develop guilt.

Covid19, a virus that can cause emotions that quickly turn into a feeling of guilt due to the consequences it could have on their loved ones.

When you learn that you’re positive, you are immediately overwhelmed by a feeling of anxiety and self-accusation – besides fear of having contracted the disease, many fear the reaction of their loved ones and upset their lives a few days.

This feeling, shared by many, is a completely normal reaction and is explained by a need for control; control of a situation that is completely out of our control, yet we always look for ways to explain it and often, that’s why we say to each other: “I had to do something that caused this” or “I didn’t follow the correct measurements and precautions needed to prevent it” or “I didn’t do enough”

To know that it is an IRRATIONAL reasoning which doesn’t have to be.

Normally, guilt is the feeling of being responsible for a deliberate misconduct, but in this case, nobody deliberately contaminates a loved one.

FOR MAJOROTY, THIS FEELING OF CULPABILITY WILL GO FAST.

For others, it can lead to a feeling of depression – especially if a loved one has contracted the virus in return.
