Diplays some 20 statues and several smaller artifacts from the Bronze and Hellenistic eras and, most outstandingly, the 200 years of Roman rule during which the temples were built.
The museum’s main value lies in the maps and photographs interpreting how and why the temples were built. There is also an interesting exhibition by the German photographer Herman Burckhardt of the ruins, and the Turkmen and Bedouin tribes who lived in the area.
The Museum was opened in 1988 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Emperor Wilhelm II’s visit to Baalbeck.
